  ABOUT TALIA

Originally from Canmore, Alberta, Talia spent her Junior and Young Rider years successfully competing and placing at the FEI levels of three-day-eventing in the US and Canada, training and riding under some of North America's top three-day eventers and show jumpers, including David O'Connor, Hawley Bennett, Penny Rowland, James Wofford, Kelly Temple, Frankie Chesler, Tim Grubb and Alberta's own, Sandra Donnelly. After a successful finish at the 2005 North American Junior Young Riders Championships in Virginia, Talia and New Heights were named to the 2006 Canadian Eventing Team Long-List. An unfortunate injury sustained by New Heights, saw Talia return to Alberta to attend University and shift her focus to coaching and the development of young horses. Today, Talia continues to pair her love of horse sport with her academic pursuits. She is passionate about coaching and riding, supporting equestrians as they work towards becoming better athletes, competitors and horse people, and developing top quality young horses for sport. Talia holds a Master's Degree in Political Science and currently works with the Arctic Institute of North America as a Research Associate.
